Highly likely of a new supplier for Fiji Passports

It is highly likely that there will be a new supplier of Fiji Passports, after current suppliers De La Rue did not make the final four companies in the tender shortlist.

The evaluation team will be meeting this week where it is hoped that a consensus will be reached on whether a recommendation should be made to the Government tender board or invitations be made to companies to make their presentation before a final decision is made.

Meanwhile members of the under-20 rugby team with emergency passports have been granted Schengen Visas to travel to Italy.

At present US Embassy and New Zealand High Commission officials have confirmed that it is not possible to travel to their respective countries with emergency passports as the specimen passports they have received have not been approved.
