Considering that the standard of Queen Contestants participating in the Hibiscus festival a few year's ago had become a concern, the Hibiscus Organising Committee says that contestants this year will be different.

Committee Chairman, Hirdesh Prasad says all 12 Queen and King Contestants for this year's Hibiscus Festival have been selected through a stringent process.

He says they were selected by the head of human resources from various organisations and also the Hibiscus Organising Committee.

The 2014 Hibiscus Queen was Nanise Rainima.

Prasad says the 2015 Hibiscus Festival will now be held at the Suva Foreshore and the committee has given it's assurance that this year's Festival will be safe.

He says they will be putting up lights and CCTV cameras around the new venue to ensure that all those attending the festival will be safe.

The Hibiscus Festival will be held from the 14th to the 22nd of August.
