A heavy rain warning remains in force for the eastern and southern half of Viti Levu that includes, Rakiraki, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Nausori, Navua Pacific Harbour and Korolevu, Lau, Lomaiviti Group, Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and nearby smaller islands.
Heavy rain is now in force for Yasawa and Mamanuca group
The Nadi Weather Office says this is due to a trough of low pressure that remains slow moving over the group with associated cloud and rain affecting the eastern and northern parts of the country.
It says that another trough of low pressure is expected to approach the Fiji group from the Northwest later tonight and these systems are expected to clear by later this Wednesday.
People can expect periods of rain, heavy at times and squally thunderstorms with showers to increase and become frequent from tomorrow.
Heavy falls may also lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
A flood warning remains in force for low lying areas and downstream of Korovou Town, Naqali Bridge, and the Waidina River.
A flood alert also remains in force for the low lying areas, small streams, and areas adjacent to major rivers of Viti Levu.
