A heavy rain alert is now in force for Nadi, Lautoka, Ba, Tavua, Rakiraki, Yasawa and Mamanuca Islands, Kadavu, Lau, Lomaiviti Group and the Northern Division.
The Weather Office says an active trough of low pressure lies slow moving to the west of Fiji.
Flash flood warning now in place for low lying and flood prone areas in Vitogo River, Nasivi River, and Rakiraki and Penang Rivers.
Areas that are likely to be affected are Vakabuli-Paipai Crossing, low lying crossings within Nasivi, Rakiraki and Penang River.
Heavy rain can affect some localised businesses, flash flooding of low lying areas, localised flooding of Irish crossings and informal settlements and some disruption to traffic flow and poor visibility.
