Minister for Health Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete says health centres which do not have Metformin in stock have to place their orders with Fiji Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Services.
This comes after concerns were raised about two types of medications, Metformin and Enalapril being out of stock at some health centres in Fiji.
Dr Waqainabete has confirmed Metformin is in stock while the Ministry has made appropriate arrangements for Enalapril.
Both medications are on the Free Medicine Scheme.
Metformin is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes while Enalapril is used to treat high blood pressure, diabetic kidney disease, and heart failure.
