Former Swire Shipping Fijian Drua winger Vinaya Habosi has been named to start on the wing for Racing 92 against Top 14 table leaders Toulouse in their round 20 clash today.
This is the second consecutive week Habosi has been given the starting role after an impressive outing last week against Josua Tuisova’s Lyon side despite losing 45-11.
Habosi who was earlier terminated by the Fijian Drua for breach of the code of conduct before the start of this year’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season is quickly starting to make waves in the french top 14 competition with his impressive runs and solid defenses after his first appearance last week.
Fijian utility back-rower Kitione Kamikamica has been named on the bench for the Racing 92 side.
Meanwhile, in other top 14 matches over the weekend, Levani Botia’s La Rochelle beat Jale Vatubua’s Pau side 36-32, Masivesi Dakuwaqa’s Montpellier beat Peceli Yato’s Clermont 34-6, Edward Sawailau’s Perpignan overcame Sireli Maqala’s Bayonne 34-27, Filipo Nakosi’s Castres pipped Josua Tuisova’s Lyon 27-22, Setareki Tuicuvu’s Brive lost to Bordeaux 28-7 while Jiuta Wainiqolo and Waisea Nayacalevu helped their Toulon side beat Peniasi Dakuwaqa’s Stade Francais 37-9.
