HK 7s: Win and a loss for our Fiji 7s sides after day 1 of competition

After the first day of the HSBC Hong Kong 7s our Fiji Airways Men’s and Fijiana national sides have won one game while both losing their first pool matches to Australia.

The Fijiana gave up and early lead to go down 19-12 while the men failed to score any points losing 12-0 last night.

Both teams however managed to bounce back in their next game with the Fijiana running in 4 tries to win 24-7 against South Africa.

The Osea Kolinisau coached side pulled out all the stops as they demolished Canada 45-5.

The men’s side will face France at 5.43 this afternoon in their final pool match.

The men’s cup quarterfinals kick off at 9.09 tonight, the semifinals are at 5.40pm tomorrow and the cup final is at 10.53pm tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Fijiana 7s will play Ireland at 3.02pm today in their final pool match.

The women’s cup quarterfinals start at 7.34 tonight, the cup semifinals are at 4.54pm tomorrow with the final at 10.13pm tomorrow.
