A ground incident at the Los Angeles International Airport forced Fiji Airways to cancel their FJ811 service flight scheduled for LA to Nadi on Wednesday this week.
In a statement, Fiji Airways reassured that no guest or crew member was on board the aircraft at the time of the incident.
They say alternative travel arrangements are swiftly being organised for guests who were booked on the cancelled service and affected passengers will be contacted directly with detailed information regarding their new travel arrangements.
Fiji Airways says in light of this incident, they anticipate some delays to their services for the next few days and guests impacted by these changes will be promptly notified of any alterations to their travel plans.
They say they are working diligently to minimise any inconvenience and ensure a smooth travel experience for all their guests.
They add the safety of their guests and crew is paramount, and they apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Fiji Airways stated that they have also updated their Peace of Mind policy to now offer the most generous and flexible options to customers who have been unable to utilise their tickets during the closure of Fiji’s borders.
They say customers are requested to note that as per IATA Dangerous Good Regulations, spare or loose batteries of any type are not allowed in checked-in luggage, even in their original retained packaging.
