Grassroots advocacy and women's participation are vital at the grassroots level by providing readily accessible information so that they participate in politics.
While speaking to fijivillage News after the Women Participation in Election round table discussion, a representative from the forum says convening such events and bringing marginalised voices to platforms for inclusivity in legal reform work is vital.
She further says significant work is being carried out by the government in preparation for the General Election.
She says this work will influence the voices of the people and how they can exercise their vote come election day.
The representative adds that this particular workshop, focusing on women’s participation, serves as a boost for their political engagement.
Amelia Nairoba, a representative from the Ministry of Women stressed the need to encourage women to take part in district and provincial forums, where they can assume leadership roles, join boards of directors, or serve as members or chairs.
