A grandfather charged with two counts of sexual assault and a count of attempted rape of his 13‑year‑old granddaughter has applied for bail in the Suva Magistrates Court.
But the 52-year-old man will have to spend Christmas and New Year remanded in custody as the prosecution’s response to his bail application will be heard on the 3rd of January next year.
The man allegedly committed the offences between 1st of December last year and the 17th of January this year.
