Nadi Hospital

The government has come up with a solution to pay private practitioners in Nadi $50 an hour to help address the doctor-to-patient ratio at the Nadi hospital.

Minister for Health and Medical Services Rosy Akbar says they will also pay specialized private doctors and surgeons $80 an hour for their services.

She says work on improving the hospital which shares 15 doctors and 80 nurses with Namaka Health centre would begin soon.

While visiting the hospital yesterday, Akbar also held discussions with the Nadi Hospital board of visitors to discuss possible solutions to the limited spaces that have been complained about at the hospital.

Akbar says there are issues that need to be dealt with especially the issue of spacing and the limited resources.
