About 200 families staying at the Muslim League Squatter Settlement in Nabua are uncertain about Christmas as they have been given eviction notices by the Fiji Muslim League.

The families say they are waiting for the decision from the government on where they will be relocated to.

Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Filimoni Vosarogo says he is discussing this issue with the Minister for Housing to find a piece of land for these people.

Vosarogo says once he receives a confirmation from the Minister, they will advise them accordingly.

He reiterates this is not the first time this has happened, as the Muslim League has attempted to give notices to the people in the past.

Vosarogo says this time they need to draw down on a loan they had applied for hence the need for the people to leave the site before they lose that finance.
