Goundar Shipping clarifies the emission of heavy smoke on its vessel

Goundar Shipping Limited has clarified that the vessel that was seen in a video circulating on social media emitting heavy black smoke, was their vessel that left Ellington Wharf yesterday and upon maneuvering the vessel from the port, heavy black smoke was emitted, which cleared off after a few minutes as the voyage continued.

They say no passengers or crew were hurt and they have resumed normal services.

When questioned by fijivillage News if this was a normal scene for it to emit that amount of heavy smoke upon maneuvering, they said it is not always the case and they have rectified the cause for the heavy smoke being emitted for the subject vessel.
