Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Rosy Akbar yesterday presented $600 worth of stationery to the Gospel School for the Deaf as part of the Fiji Day celebrations.
Akbar says the purpose of the visit was to focus on the government’s vision of creating an inclusive society for all Fijians.
She says that the government is committed to building a barrier free and an inclusive society where no one is left behind.
Akbar adds that it is their job as leaders, educators, parents and as community leaders to ensure that these little treasures are not left behind as they move forward because some of the great leaders of the country may arise from these special schools.
Meanwhile, Director of the Gospel School for the Deaf, Jim Cooney says that they ensure that every student of the school receives proper care and the best education.
