Langi Gleeson who has maternal links to Fiji has been named alongside three other Fijians in the Australia A side for the Pacific Nations Cup.
20 year old Gleeson was raised in Fiji and attended Dilkusha Boys Primary School.
Speaking to fijivillage Sports, Gleeson’s grandfather and namesake, Lagi Peters says they are proud of his achievement and are looking forward to Gleeson travelling to play in Fiji in the green and gold jersey.
Peters says he knew his grandson would go far in his rugby career after he broke through to the NSW Waratahs Super Rugby side at a young age.
Gleeson will join Filipo Daugunu, Serupepeli Uru and Mark Nawaqanitawase when the Australia A squad travel to Fiji for the PNC next month.
Australia A will face the Flying Fijians on July 9th at Churchill Park at 3.30pm.
Meanwhile the Flying Fijians first match of the Pacific Nations Cup will be against Tonga on 2nd July at 3.30pm at the ANZ Stadium. In their final pool match, the Flying Fijians take on Samoa on July 16th at 3.30pm at Churchill Park.
