Some of the challenges faced by the Naitasiri Province are girls below the age of 18 years moving in with their partners and teenage pregnancy.
This was highlighted by the Naitasiri Provincial Administrator Asakaia Tabua when highlighting the Council’s work for this financial year during the Naitasiri Provincial Council meeting at Lutu Village in Wainimala.
He urges the district representatives to talk about these issues with their youths.
Tabua says teenage pregnancy is on the rise, and it's not only in the Naitasiri Province but also in other provinces.
He adds parents should ensure there is a platform where children can easily express themselves.
The Naitasiri Provincial Administrator says drug use is also a challenge for them, and leaders should work together with their people to eradicate this from their land.
Tabua says children’s misbehaviour is also increasing in schools, and parents should take a lead role in instilling good values in their children.
