I entered the Fiji Music Comp 2023 because I wanted to buy my grandfather an outboard engine with the prize money.
Adi Asenaca Tusaqa from Naduri, Macuata highlighted this to fijivillage News saying that her grandfather built his own boat at their home and the only thing left is an outboard engine.
Adi Asenaca says she wants to do this for her grandfather because he is the backbone of her going into music and has been supporting her from the beginning.
She says her grandfather has always been pushing her to pursue her music.
Adi Asenaca says the best advice from her grandfather that she will always remember is she is nothing without God.
Fiji Music Comp 2023 organiser, David Tiko says the most important thing is that it provides the contestants with a platform to project their talents to Fiji.
Tiko says they also have some guest artists performing today like the Fijian Tenor Justin Hickes as well as Paradise Rootz.
He says there are 13 finalists competing today for the grand prize of $5,000, $2000, and $500, with some hampers for the runner ups.
The Fiji Music Comp 2023 is currently underway at the Suva Civic Centre until 3pm or you can stream it online by searching DarkCircle on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram.
