The Matildas are through to the quarterfinals of the FIFA Women's World Cup following a thrilling victory over number 13-ranked Denmark.
But it's not just in Australia where Matildas fever has taken hold.
Just outside of Port Moresby, a little village called Kira Kira has decorated its streets green and yellow.
The village is the birthplace of Matildas star Mary Fowler's mother Nido, as well as her uncle, Rabura Geita.
Mr Geita said the village was full of excitement.
"Because of my niece, the whole village is involved in watching her games," he said.
"In all the houses, they have flat screens. The whole village is involved in supporting Mary."
