New Zealand’s Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully says he is pleased to have met with some Opposition members in a closed meeting yesterday afternoon.
McCully says it is always important that New Zealand builds a relationship with parties across parliaments.
He also says talking to members of the Opposition is also an important part of his visit.
SODELPA MP Viliame Gavoka says they spoke about a number of issues and also raised some concerns in relation to Parliament sessions.
Gavoka says there are opportunities to link up with other opposing parties in New Zealand and learn how to become a more effective Opposition.
Meanwhile Gavoka says Opposition Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa was not present in the meeting as she is in Levuka.
