Wales head coach Warren Gatland admits that he still gets nervous before matches and the upcoming Rugby World Cup opener against the Fiji Water Flying Fijians will be no different.
Gatland says he always gets nervous and he would be worried if he didn’t.
He says the Flying Fijians have improved so much and the advent of Super Rugby has been a huge boost for them playing in a top-quality competition week in, week out and it has definitely strengthened them.
Gatland says this will be an interesting World Cup as Fiji, Samoa and Tonga all look capable of causing upsets like they have done in the past and it is brilliant for rugby and for the game moving forward.
Wales will take on Fiji at 7am tomorrow in Bordeaux.
Meanwhile, in the RWC matches that have been played, host France beat the All Blacks 27-13, Italy thrashed Namibia 52-8, Australia beat Georgia 35-15, Ireland demolished Romania 82-8 and England beat Argentina 27-10. Stay with us for updates.
