GHS wins first Inter Secondary School Bible Quiz Competition in Fiji and the South Pacific

Gospel High School has won the first Inter Secondary School Bible Quiz Competition in Fiji and the South Pacific which was held at the Foster Crane Hall in Gospel High School.

12 schools including Gospel High School, Yat Sen Secondary School, Adi Cakobau Secondary, Marist Brothers High School, Jai Narayan College, Assemblies of God College, Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, Suva Grammar School, Saint Josephs Secondary School, John Wesley College with Samabula Primary School being the only Primary school participating while the notable inclusion was the non hearing students of Gospel School of the Deaf.

Head Teacher of Gospel High School, Immanuel Prasad stated that this quiz competition can greatly improve students learning capabilities as well as it provides them with a holistic approach on learning.

Prasad was very proud of his students in their achievement as part of the curriculum of the school is to have two scripture classes in a week with 2 to 3 hour examinations depending on the level they are in.

The quiz competition is planned to be held every year and Prasad adds that other schools are interested in participating next year.

Gospel High School won the competition with Yat San Secondary School coming in second with 49 points while Adi Cakobau School finished third with 48.5 points.

Prasad says they will currently focus on schools in the Southern Division at the moment before branching out to the Eastern, Western and Northen division.
