SANZAR boss Andy Marinos has admitted the Super Rugby competition has lost its way and may not be back in future.
Marinos says Super Rugby has gradually drifted away from what made it great as the participating nations mistakenly tried to use it to replace their domestic rugby competitions.
He says teams have tried to use Super Rugby the solution for domestic rugby as opposed as to what it was initially set out to be.
Marinos says the best solution was the 10-12 team competition which would still appeal most fans.
He adds border restrictions and COVID-19 restrictions will have a major say in the future of the competition.
