Minister for Local Government, Premila Kumar says further improvements in the National Fire Authority’s Call Centre system are underway.
910 is now officially the toll-free number for fire emergency and rescue and the calls will directly go to the National Fire Authority control rooms.
Kumar says the NFA is also investing in a Computer-Aided Dispatch System with QIT Pacific which is a software development and consulting firm.
She says once operational later this year, this system will support call handling performance standards by incorporating monitoring tools to track actual call handling performance.
It will put in place systems to ensure the service targets of NFA’s national call number system are met.
