Funds raised at the upcoming Fiji Bitter Malake 7s tournament will go towards phase two of the renovation of the Malake Methodist Church after it was damaged by the recent few hurricanes in the past few years.

While speaking at the tournament launch, Head of Marketing for Fiji Bitter Etrina Simpson says the event is a key part of their commitment to fostering rugby talent and giving back to supporting communities.

Tournament Coordinator Isoa Tute says the Malake 7s offers growth opportunities for players while positively impacting Rakiraki town through clean-up efforts and the church renovation project.

The tournament will feature 32 Men's teams, 8 Women's teams, and 24 U21 teams, with a total of $21,000 in prize money.

The Fiji Bitter Malake 7s tournament will run from Thursday to Saturday at the Narauyaba Sports Ground in Rakiraki.
