The Chief Executive Officer of Frank Hilton Organisation Sureni Perara says funding is a huge challenge for them with the growing demand for the services provided by the Organisation.
Frank Hilton Organization is a non-profit organization that supports over 1,500 children with special needs or are at a risk of disability annually.
Sureni says that the Hilton House Hostel provides care for 12 children.
Over $85,000 have been raised from the 18 teams that took part in the Frank Hilton Wheelbarrow Race 2019 and donations are still pouring in.
The money is expected to help children with special needs or who are at a risk of disability.
The entry fee for teams taking part was $5,000.
The Frank Hilton Organisation provides outpatient services in Hilton Early Intervention Centre, Hilton Special School and Hilton House Hostel.
Frank Hilton Organisation provides early detection and intervention, rehabilitation, education and parent support programmes.
Sureni says that they are also the only service provider for audiology services and speech therapy services.
She says the strategic plans of the organization focuses on workforce development, institutional strengthening and to support the existing sectors of health and education in providing holistic support services for children with disabilities and their families.
