Fund-raising event by USP to help improve Children's Homes around the country

The University of the South Pacific is organising a fund-raising event “ Bands by the Beach” where all funds raised will go towards improving Children’s Homes around the country.

USP is working in partnership with the Ministry for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation.

The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Jennifer Poole says the proceed from the charity will be distributed to all Children’s Homes and even non- governmental organisation.

Poole says that this will help in renovating the homes, purchase of electrical appliance and also purchase of beds, tables and other furniture for the Children’s use.

The event will be hosted on the 29th of next month at the USP Marine Campus in Laucala and tickets prices are selling for $10, $15 and $150 VIP.

Group Manager USP Campus Life, Glenn Pope says that this is part of giving back to the community as people will be entertained by various bands on the day and children under 12 will access free rides.
