The French Navy ship, D'Entrecasteaux has arrived in Fiji for a three-day goodwill visit.
It is berthed at the Suva wharf.
The Captain of the D'Entrecasteaux, Benoit Bariller says they will meet with their counterparts in Fiji to share and exchange ideas on their operations.
Spokersperson for the French Embassy, Moira Vilisoni says this will include a meeting with the Commander of the RFMF, Viliame Naupoto.
Members of the RFMF have also been undergoing classes where they learn the French language for peace keeping missions.
The D'Entrecasteaux is a 65-metre Batiment multi‑mission ship which is a class of oceanic patrol ships of the French Navy.
It is often called the "Swiss Army knife of the Navy" because it can perform various tasks ranging from law enforcement and logistics work like policing illegal fishing, traffic and mining.
