The Freedom Riders Association together with Royal Suva Yacht Club today donated groceries to the people in need.

A spokesperson for the Group Diven Prasad says they heard that families and children were missing meals as they cannot afford to put food on the table and they together with the Royal Suva Yacht Club requested their members and individuals for donations.

Prasad says the response was remarkable and they have managed to bring smiles on the peoples faces.

They donated groceries at Namuka and Bilo Village.

The group has also donated groceries to residents of the Housing Assistance Relief Trust (HART).

Prasad says organisations such as Fiji Law Society, Freedom Riders and several other individuals have assisted them to get the groceries done.

Prasad added they received several phone calls from people willing to help.

He said people who could afford to could simply add one extra item to their shopping list and this could be used to help the less fortunate in society.
