The Leader of Freedom Alliance Party Jagath Karunaratne confirms that they will announce the names of their provisional candidates this week.
Karunaratne who was present at the issuance of Writ for Elections by the President, says they are getting ready as a party on their own with as many candidates as possible.
He adds they are in a position to announce 51 candidates and at the same time they are also having discussions with other political parties to look at coalition, cooperation and partnership arrangements.
He says if they are going into a coalition with other parties, then they will have to make some sacrifices and compromises in terms of candidacy.
When asked by Fijivillage, Karunaratne says they are not facing any major difficulty in getting candidates for the general elections.
Freedom Alliance Party was known as Fiji United Freedom Party in the 2014 general elections and received 1,072 votes.
