Rugby World Cup 2023 hosts France showed class and sheer determination and also proved why they are going to be a force to be reckoned with after walloping the Wallabies 41-17 early this morning.
The hosts have also sent a stern message to the rest of the team that will be participating at the RWC with that near-perfect performance.
The win has seen them move up the world rugby rankings to third place ahead of world champs New Zealand who has slipped to fourth after a demolishing 35-7 loss to the Springboks over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Fijian-born winger Suliasi Vunivalu stood out for the Wallabies despite the loss with a great performance followed by a try.
Vunivalu did his best to silence the crowd, playing his best game in the gold jersey by far.
The Fijian winger was later yellow-carded for a foul play later in the second half.
Fellow Fijian winger Mark Nawaqanitawase also got on the scoring sheet as the Wallabies scored three tries to France’s 4 tries.
France’s fullback Thomas Ramos scored 16 points for his side with 4 penalty kicks and 2 conversions.
France’s first RWC game is against the All Blacks at 7.15am on the 9th of next month.
