The Fiji Roads Authority is raising concerns with the increase in the number of cases of vandalism to their road assets with the fourth case reported this month.
This comes after a Hot Spring Hire Services Ltd drainage excavator was vandalised on Saliadrau Road in Namosi.
FRA Chief Executive Officer Johnathan Moore says earlier this year, a Grader Dry Hire was severely vandalised on Nakorotubu Road in Rakiraki, another Grader on Lewa Road in Ba was also stoned and its electrical conduits cut to pieces and a heavy equipment roller was set on fire in Rewa.
Moore says the equipment is very costly and they are working closely with the Fiji Police Force to pursue offenders and they are investigating these matters.
He says apart from these, several bus shelters and road signs have also been vandalised.
The CEO says this is an act of immaturity and these individuals lack civic pride.

Moore adds they are investing millions of dollars on the road infrastructure for the public to be able to travel safely, smoothly and to enhance community pride, and to have someone deliberately damage the road assets is more than disappointing.
