A former primary school manager has been remanded in custody by the Nausori Magistrates Court after being charged with corruption-related offences.
Ilisavani Vualiku was charged by FICAC with two counts of Obtaining a Financial Advantage and one count of Causing a Loss.
Vualiku is alleged to have cashed a cheque meant for the school and managed to obtain $1,500 in 2014 and $1,600 in 2015.
He is further alleged to have caused a loss of $19,443.19 to the school by not submitting proper acquittals of the usage of the funds between January 2014 and November 2015.
In a second case, he is charged with one count of Escape from Lawful Custody for having escaped from a FICAC Investigator after asking to use a public convenience.
The matter has been adjourned to the 30th of this month.
