Former national soccer team defender Abdul Mannan has been inducted into the Fiji FA’s Legends Club.
The legends program is an initiative of Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel that recognizes the contribution of those footballers who have played their hearts out in the international arena and brought medals for Fiji.
Mannan says he is proud to be finally recognized by Fiji FA.
Speaking to Fiji FA Media, Mannan says he has played football for 25 years and represented the national team for nine years.
He started his football career in 1977 representing DAV Boys College. Mannan first represented the national soccer team in 1979 during the South Pacific Games as captain.
Mannan says there are lot of changes in the Fiji FA compared to past years and the current executives are doing well with grassroots development.
The former Rewa and Nasinu defender has also urged young footballers to be positive, train hard and believe in themselves.
