A former Shortland Street actor accused of indecently assaulting seven of his acting students will stand trial in September.
Rene Naufahu's four‑week jury trial has been scheduled to begin on September 4 ‑ his bail will continue until that date.
He did not appear in the Auckland District Court today and was excused by the judge.
The 46‑year‑old has denied two charges of sexual violation and 15 of indecent assault.
His charges relate to seven female complainants who say they were assaulted by Naufahu between 2010 and 2013.
The offence is alleged to have happened when they took private acting tutorials from him.
Naufahu said his alleged actions were consensual and aimed at trying to get [the students] ready for actual roles in the industry.
