Former Politician Poseci Bune passes on

Former politician, Ambassador Secretary to Cabinet and Chair of the Public Service Commission Poseci Bune

Former politician, Ambassador, Secretary to Cabinet and Chair of the Public Service Commission Poseci Bune has passed away.

It is understood that Bune passed away at the Nadi Hospital this morning due to prostate cancer.

Before making his statement in Parliament this morning, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka sent his condolences to Bune’s family and relatives in this time of sorrow.

Rabuka says he was fortunate to have met with Bune on one of his Western trips before his passing.

He says Bune has been a loyal servant to the country.

Rabuka has urged all men to get tested and clearance for prostate cancer from the doctors to avoid more deaths from this disease.

Bune held significant roles including serving as a Cabinet Minister and as the country’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
