Former LA resident extradited from Fiji sentenced to over 8yrs

A former Las Vegas resident Aneal Maharaj who was extradited from Fiji for defrauding a number of people of almost US $1.5 million has been sentenced to more than 8 years in prison by the United State District Court.
Maharaj had fled to Fiji in 2009 to avoid prosecution however was extradited in 2011.
According to Fox News, sixty five year old Maharaj defrauded 17 people in an investment fraud scheme and had pleaded guilty to fraud and tax evasion charges.
