The former vice president of Fiji Football Association who is serving four year sentence for indecent assault and defilement has lost his appeal against conviction.
Dewan Chand indecently assaulted and defiled a class six student in 2007 over a three year period.
Chand filed an appeal on the grounds that there were numerous inconsistencies in the complainant's evidence and that the learned Magistrates was unfair when he caught the complainant had lied in court.
In his appeal he also highlighted that his wife's evidence was excluded unreasonably and that the Magistrate took irrelevant matters into account when coming to his decision.
Judge Justice Daniel Goundar while dismissing the appeal said that the grounds of appeal have not been made out and dismissed the appeal.
