The plea of former Chief Executive Officer of Fijian Holdings Limited, Mohammed Nouzab Fareed who is facing 3 counts of indecent assault has been deferred to a later date.
Fareed was expected to take his plea today but his lawyer, Hemendra Naagin suggested if plea could be deferred for another 6-weeks so that he could make representations to the DPP on Fareed’s charges.
There have also been changes to Fareed's bail conditions as he will now have to report to the Samabula Police Station on the last Saturday of every month.
The case has been adjourned till the 15th of April where he will take his plea.
Police Chief of Intelligence and Investigations, ACP Biu Matavou earlier confirmed that the first 2 counts of indecent assault is in relation to the first complainant who alleged Fareed allegedly committed the offence on 2 separate occasions in the months of June and September 2019.
He says the third count of indecent assault is in relation to the second complainant who alleged Fareed allegedly committed the offence in May 2019.
This is in relation to the two women who made allegations against Fareed.
Audio recordings of Fareed allegedly speaking to one of the complainants and former FHL worker at the time of the alleged incident had also gone viral a few weeks ago. The woman had earlier said that she had earlier taken the matter up to the FHL board.
Fareed resigned after an FHL board meeting on December 20th last year.
