Former British lawyer appointed fourth Assistant DPP

A former British lawyer, Lee Burney has been appointed as the fourth Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde said that Burney’s appointment will contribute significantly to the continued growth of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions as a professional organization and his experience in training and mentoring will be of particular value.

Pryde also said that Burney adds value to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions team with his experience of more than 20 years in private practice and public service.

Burney joins three other Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions including Mosese Korovou, Vinsent Perera and Michael Delaney at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions headquarters in Suva.
