Former Australian cricket star Andrew Symonds has died in a car accident.
Police released a statement saying they were investigating a single-vehicle crash in Hervey Range, around 50 kilometres from Townsville, that took the life of a 46-year-old man last night.
Police and cricket sources confirmed the former international cricketer had died. He was 46.
Allrounder Symonds was a two-time World Cup winner who represented Australia in 26 tests, 198 one-day internationals and 14 Twenty20 internationals over an 11-year span from 1998.
