Food Processors Fiji Limited launches new line of local frozen products

Food Processors Fiji Limited has today launched a new line of products like frozen cassava, frozen taro leaves, frozen pumpkin and frozen jackfruit.

These locally produced food items processed at Government’s commercial company, Food Processors Fiji Limited will be sold at Food City Supermarket from today.

Minister for Agriculture, Dr Mahendra Reddy says other seasonal food items that will be launched by Food Processors Limited are frozen bele, dalo fries, yam fries and frozen mixed vegetables supplied by local farmers.

Dr Reddy says these products are promoting a healthy diet.

He says at times, people don’t have time to prepare these food items and consume more non healthy food items.

Dr Reddy says these frozen products will not be significantly  different from what people can get from the farms and the price will be competitive.

The Minister has also revealed that his own family is doing the same thing where they stock up fruits and vegetables in their fridge.

The new frozen products will be available at all major supermarkets from next week.
