Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s coach Ben Gollings says Ireland is a very good side and the focus is on them at the moment.
Gollings says they have to be very disciplined and allow their attack to take over.
He says it will be a great first game before they focus on France who have improved a lot in the last couple of years.
Meanwhile, Gollings has confirmed his 13 member squad for the Singapore 7s with Tevita Daugunu captaining the team for the first time.
Army halfback Filipo Bukayaro, Tabadamu’s Josevani Soro and Fire 7s rep Vuiviawa Naduvalo will be making their debut for Fiji today.
The team also consists of experienced players such as Jerry Tuwai, Waisea Nacugu, Josua Vakurunabili, Kaminieli Rasaku, Joseva Talacolo, Ioane Teba and Jeremaia Matana.
Fiji will meet Ireland in their first match of the Singapore 7s at 2.22pm today.
They will then face France at 5.06pm in their second match and play Japan at 8.22pm in their final pool match.
The cup quarterfinals will kick off at 4.28pm tomorrow, semis will start at 8.13pm while the final will be played at 11.28pm tomorrow.
