The Fiji Water Flying Fijians has moved up another notch to 9th place in the newly updated World Rugby rankings surpassing Wales.
Wales was demoted from 9th place after their close 19-17 loss to England last week.
The Flying Fijians will now be looking to keep their winning streak this season going when they take on France this weekend in their second-last test match before heading to the Rugby World Cup next month.
After an impressive outing during the Punjas Pacific Battle Series this year recording wins over Tonga, Samoa and Japan, the Flying Fijians will want to keep the momentum going.
The last time the two teams met was back in 2018 when Fiji posted a historic 21-14 win over France in Paris.
The two teams were supposed to meet again in 2020 but the match was awarded to France due to the Flying Fijians pulling out of the game due to a spate of COVID-19 cases in the team.
The Flying Fijians will play France at 7.05am this Sunday in Nantes.
They will then head off to Twickenham next week to play England at 2.15am next Sunday.
Meanwhile, Fiji’s first RWC pool match will be against Wales at 7am on the 11th of next month.
