Floodwaters in Nadi Town have receded, but have caused damage to some shops.
Nadi businessman Mohammed Khan says there was about three feet of water on the town's main street.
He adds that the flash flooding caught some business owners off guard, which left them unable to prepare properly.
Khan says some shops have unfortunately sustained damage, but the full extent will only be known after proper assessment.
He also says the Nadi Back Road remains flooded, although the highway is now clear.
A Flood Warning remains in force for flood-prone areas adjacent to and downstream of the Ba, Nasivi River in Tavua, Nakauvadra River in Rakiraki, and Nadi River.
The Nadi Weather Office reports rainfall recorded over the past 24 hours ranged from 69mm to 185mm in the Western Division.
A Flash Flood Warning remains in force for all low-lying, flash flood-prone areas and small streams across Fiji.
A Flood Alert remains in force for flood-prone areas adjacent to and downstream of all major rivers in Fiji. A Heavy Rain Warning remains in force for the entire Fiji Group.
An active trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain continues to affect the country.
Another active trough of low pressure, with associated rain, is expected to move in from the west tomorrow and gradually spread across the rest of the country until Sunday.
