Passengers that were earlier stranded in buses in Soasoa Labasa have proceeded out of the area as flood waters are receding.
Passengers had been stranded due to flooding.
Police have confirmed flood waters in Vaturekuka, Bulileka ,Soasoa, Nakama and Vunivau areas are receding.
Roads which were earlier closed for traffic are now open.
There is a heavy rain warning in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group while there is a heavy rain alert for the rest of Fiji.
A strong wind warning remains in force for the rest of Fiji.
A flood alert remains in force for low lying areas, small streams and areas near Dreketilailai and Qawa River and for the low lying areas, small streams and areas adjacent to major rivers of Vanua Levu and Taveuni.
