The continuous rain since last night has affected farmers in the Northern Division as flood waters have entered the sugarcane fields and some homes near the rivers.

Qelewaqa resident, Sanjeshni Pillay has confirmed this to fijivillage News and says the weather has improved, however, it is still cloudy and they are preparing themselves for the heavy rain.

Pillay adds some areas remain flooded.

Meanwhile, a Heavy Rain Warning remains in force for the interior, Northern and Western parts of Vanua Levu and Viti Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca Groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti Groups and is now cancelled over the rest of the group.

A Flood Warning remains in force for low lying and flood prone areas adjacent and downstream of Qawa River, Wairikicake River, Dewala at Korotari River, Labasa River, Nakawaga River and Bagata River.

A Flash Flood Warning remains in force for flash flood prone areas, small stream and low lying crossing for Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.

Tropical Disturbance 05F is currently slow moving to the southwest of Fiji.

The associated active trough of low pressure with cloud and rain is expected to affect the country till Thursday.
