Flash Flood Alert issued for eastern parts of Viti Levu and parts of Vanua Levu

A Flash Flood Alert remains in force for small streams and low-lying, flash flood prone areas of interior and eastern parts of Viti Levu including from Korolevu, through coral coast, Navua, Lami, Suva, Wainimala, Waidina, Wainibuka, Nausori to Korovou, Dobuilevu, Rakiraki to Tavua and parts of Vanua Levu from Nabouwalu, through Dama, Lekutu, Batiri and Seaqaqa to Labasa.

A Heavy Rain Warning with severe thunderstorms is now in force for the interior and western parts of Viti Levu including Momi through Nadi, extending to Ba and Rakiraki while a Heavy Rain Alert remains in force for the interior and eastern parts of of Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups.

The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure associated with cloud and rain remains slow moving just North of Fiji and it is expected to gradually drift South over the northern parts of the group later today before moving back North tomorrow.
