The Ministry of Education is looking at making the singing of the national anthem and the flag raising ceremony in primary and secondary schools compulsory.
Minister of Education Dr Mahendra Reddy said at the moment some schools do not have the facilities to hold the flag raising ceremony.
Dr Reddy said they will be assisting these schools.
The Minister of Education said the main reason for this is to instill national pride in the students and teachers.
Dr Reddy added that schools can do this during their school assembly.
