Five women from Nadogo district undergo training in India

Five women from Nadogo district in Macuata are currently undergoing a six months training programme in Solar Engineering at Barefoot College in Rajasthan, India.

Team leader, Mere Rakaukau said they are very happy to broaden their knowledge for a brighter future.

The Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation said when these women return in September they will be trainers at the Regional Barefoot Vocational Training Center which will be established in Wainikoro and Nadogo in Macuata next year.

These women are aged 38 to 50 years and were selected from those rural communities where there is no electricity.
