Over five families were left stranded at the Nabouwalu Jetty today as they faced transportation issues with Patterson Shipping.

Shivani Prakash who was one those waiting to comeback to Suva from Labasa says they boarded the ship this morning but realized that their vehicle was not on board.

She says that she was not allowed to get off the ship however after much persuasion, she and a few other passengers who were facing the same issue returned to the jetty on a lifeboat.

Patterson Shipping Spokesperson, David Patterson says there was an issue of overloading and they will be transporting the passengers to Suva on the next available ship.

He says they are investigating the matter from their end.

The passengers confirm that they have been told they would be on the next available ship to Suva.
